Job Posting: Bookkeeper, Finance Team (Volunteer)
Overview:
Rainbow Faith And Freedom (RFF) is a global movement to confront religious-based 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination and improve the human and equality rights of 2SLGBTQ+ people everywhere. The Bookkeeper is a member of the Finance Team and is responsible for implementing financial policies, and they are accountable to the Board Treasurer.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Generate financial statements.
Input day-to-day transactions, reconcile bank accounts, generate monthly financial statements to include P/L and Balance Sheet, input salaries and remittances.
Prepare tax receipts for signature by the Treasurer.
Monitor the financial records and alert the Treasurer to any important discrepancies.
Verify that government tax filings and remittances are submitted on a timely basis.
Assist with the development and presentation of the annual financial statements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
A professional accounting or bookkeeping designation is required.
Team player with a commitment to RFF mission and strategic directions.
Understanding intersectionality and Anti-Racists and Anti-Oppression practices are a nice to have.
Experience working in, or with, a not-for-profit, registered charity, 2SLGBTQ+ community and/or social justice organization/environment is a plus.
Other Skills & Qualifications:
Experience organizing and promoting events
Customer service experience
Time Commitment:
The expectation is that this volunteer position will occupy about seven hours per month and one meeting as a team once per month for a maximum of two hours.
