House of Rainbow, founded by Reverend Jide Macaulay in 2006, began as a weekly gathering for LGBTIQ+ Christians in Lagos, Nigeria, and was soon labeled by the media as 'Nigeria's First Gay Church.' Despite facing intimidation and death threats, the organization highlighted the need for support for LGBTIQ+ people of faith. Jide relocated to the UK to expand House of Rainbow into a global organization, now based in London, supporting sister organizations in 22 countries across Africa and the Caribbean. Today, House of Rainbow is a leading advocate for LGBTIQ+ people of faith, fostering dialogue between them and religious leaders to break down barriers and build understanding.
